Mantra, NecroMantra and Lauren
Dave Roberts; November 1999
A custom piece done by Dave Roberts (who was the penciller in the later
issues of the series). Here, we see NecroMantra attacking Lauren, with
Eden coming to the rescue. (It's a shame we never got to see this scene
in the comic.)
The first two images are scans taken from the earlier stages of the artwork
design, which Dave was kind enough to send along. Personally, I think
it's fascinating seeing this kind of stuff "in producution,"
so I thought I'd toss them in case others were curious.

Comics 2000 Advertisement
Dave Roberts; November 1999
Another custom piece by Dave Roberts, this artwork was a proposed image
advertising the Comics 2000 convention. Sadly, Mantra lost out to another
brunette super-heroine, Wonder Woman. (Whoever she is.)

Proposed Mantra #23 Cover
Dave Roberts (penciller); Jim Amash (inker); 1995
Here we have the "lost cover" to Mantra #23. The last issue
of the first series was #24, but the last two issues were apparently cleaning
out material that was sitting around before Black September hit and Eden
was given the boot. (For instance, I believe that #24 was originally slated
to be a separate Mantra/Ultraforce one-shot.) However, if the series had
continued, this would have been the cover for issue #23. I don't have
any details on what the story was to have been, but thanks again to Dave
Roberts for sharing this lost bit of Mantra history.
