"The Outcast Chapter I"
Wrath #2
February, 1994
Quote: "She hovered in the air as though it was the most
natural thing in the world, those terrific legs tucked under her. Then
the energy happened. Countless brilliant tendrils, leaping through
the walls, through the floor, through me. There are people at Aladdin
who envy me my abilities. They should see her. She looks...beautiful."
- Wrath, referring to Mantra

Story
Wrath finds himself in a storage shed with Mantra, who had carried him
to safety after his battle with Hellion. Distrustful of ultras, Wrath
questions Mantra on her role in recent events. In Arlington, West Virginia,
Dr. Esquida lobbies with Colonel Carpenter to end Project "W."
Failing in this, Esquida authorizes Wrath's former classmates, The Radicals,
to kill him. Returning to the Shadowood Nuclear Power Plant's sewers,
Mantra uses her magic to locate Hellion, who is plotting revenge on the
world that exiled him to Earth. Like Wrath, Hellion displays the ability
to absorb and then return energy blasts and Mantra and Hellion fight.
Mantra is knocked unconscious. Impressed by Wrath's devotion to Mantra,
Hellion flies off. Unwilling to turn Mantra over to Aladdin, Wrath and
she go their separate ways. The Aladdin super-computer, GENIE, informs
Colonel Carpenter of Esquida's treachery.
