"Bride of Boneyard"
Mantra Vol. 1 #4
October, 1993
Quote: "It was him. Boneyard. For fifteen centuries,
I'd fought against him as a warrior in the service of his blood enemy,
Archimage. But I was a man then. I was put into this body to become
a powerful magician, but until then, I was 'just a woman'--and Boneyard
was looking at me as though I was his personal property." - Mantra

Story
Boneyard has brought Mantra to his dimension for use as breeding stock
to insure his immortality. Enraged, Mantra flies into action, hurling
Boneyard aside and blasting past Notch, who realizes that Mantra is really
Lukasz. Unable to free the weakened Archimage, Mantra is forced to flee.
She encounters Jolon and Nirita, siblings whose ancestors had ruled their
world before Boneyard's arrival. Unwilling to let Boneyard gain more magic,
they try to kill Mantra. Her fiery response brings Boneyard, who takes
Mantra's mask and subdues her. They disappear moments before Warstrike
appears through a breach. Mantra wakes up in a skimpy wedding outfit,
her armor divided amongst Boneyard's wives. At the wedding, chained priest
Archimage provokes Mantra's latent natural magic, and Warstrike joins
the fray. A furious Mantra slashes Boneyard with his own sword, and he
retreats with Archimage in tow. Mantra alters Strauss' talisman so she
and Warstrike can return home.
